A recipient of the Eiteljorg’s 2019 Contemporary Art Fellowship, Hannah Claus is a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation. She is a multidisciplinary artist who creates a variety of art, including suspended installations, wall hangings and videos. These works explore such themes as time, place, elements, or bodies of water. Her materials of choice range from vellum or acetate sheets she prints images onto, to natural materials such as porcupine quills. Many of her pieces represent the relation we have with the world around us. Born and raised in the Canadian providence of New Brunswick, Hannah currently resides in Montréal, Quebec where she is an Assistant Professor at Concordia University.
